The Victorious Army's Moveless Luminous King and His Forty-eight Followers' Secret Achievement Ceremony
勝軍不動明王四十八使者祕密成就儀軌
(Taisho Tripitaka 1205) Verses
The Luminous King's four grand vows:
Anyone who sees my body
will arouse his Bodhi-Heart;
Anyone who hears my name
will cut off his evils and begin to cultivate virtuous merits;
Anyone who hears my speeches
will gain the Great Wisdom;
Anyone who realizes my heart
will attain the Buddha-Body in his present lifetime.

In praise of the Moveless Lord
Homage to the Sacrosanct Moveless One,
the greatly mighty and wrathful king
who has an ultimate compassionate heart
and pities all living beings.
His intrinsic identity is Vairocana Himself,
and He had achieved the Correct Awakening myriad eons ago.
His Dharma-Body permeates the whole Dharma Realm,
and His wisdom is as boundless as the universe.
While being silent,
His sounds are heard in the worlds as many as atoms.
In order to protect and hold the Buddha Dharmas,
and in order to give benefits and happiness to all living beings,
although He has a boundless ocean of perfectly beautiful appearances,
He skillfully manifests this very body of a wrathful appearance.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
He contemplates all living beings with His compassionate eyes,
and treats them equally as His only child.
As a skillful mean,
His has one bunch of hanging hair
which represents the Foremost One Truth.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
The Vajra Wisdom can cut off
all the afflictions that are hard to cut,
thus He holds a sharp sword
which can cut off all habit-energies decisively.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
The Vajra Stability can tie
all the evil Karmas that are hard to tie,
thus He holds a golden rope
which can tie anything and make it unable to move.
With the ultimate capability of swallowing
all the afflictions which are like poisonous dragons,
He manifests the Garuda Fire.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
He can burn off the ocean of Karma-obstructions,
He can guard the Bodhi-Hearts,
and He can help the cultivators to stay firmly,
thus He sits on the Adamant Rock Throne.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
Even though the Three Realms are filled with
greatly mighty Yaksas,
This Luminous King can completely defeat all of them,
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
Even though all the demons in the Three Realms
go together to disturb a cultivator,
This Luminous King can help the cultivator to enter the Way to Liberation.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
Once I hold the secret Mantra,
This Luminous King will protect me throughout all my reincarnations
to help me achieve the Supreme Bodhi.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
Day and night,
This Luminous King will always at my side and never leave for a moment,
In this case I will certainly ascend to Flower Store Realm.
Thus I should be mindful of this Luminous King with my every thought,
and then I will never forget Him during my every reincarnation.
Therefore, I worship Him by bowing my head to His feet.
With the obeisance employing my three types of karma(*),
I pay homage to this meritorious and virtuous Luminous King
who gives impartially to all living beings
to help them attain the achievement of the Moveless Lord.
With the power of my merits,
the power given by the Luminous King,
and the power of Dharma Realm,
I wish that the moveless state of the united body
will permeate Dharma Realm
The Vajra secret Mantra
powers me through the Three Mysteries.
I bow to this Luminous King
whose power can perfect my achievement;
I bow to this Luminous King
whose power makes the Dharma stay long in the world,
and makes all sentient beings
in the boundless ocean of worlds
of this realm and other realms
achieve the Unsurpassed Awakening together.
